Cheesy Pizza Burgers
Meat Lover’s 30-Minute Cheese Stuffed Pizza Burgers
mild Italian Sausage
For Marinara Sauce:
ground Black Pepper
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Preheat grill to medium-high.
Chop bacon into small pieces.
Combine beef, sausage and bacon.
Mix until combined, do not over mix as this can cause the burgers to be tough.
Divide mixture into 12 portions and form into patties larger than the bun.
Add 2 tablespoons shredded cheese to the centre of 6 patties.
Place a patty with no cheese on top of the cheese topped patty.
Using your thumb and index finger pinch the patties together to form one patty.
Repeat until all patties are formed.
Place burgers on grill.
Grill, flipping once.
Cook time is approximately 4 minutes each side for medium.
Keep lid closed to cook through.
If needed, you can move burgers to indirect heat for several minutes to finish cooking.
Place cut buns, cut side down on grill and cook until toasted.
Top burgers with approximately 10 pepperoni pieces and a slice of provolone cheese for the last few minutes of cooking.
Then top with a tablespoon of marinara.
Add top bun.
Serve and enjoy!
In a food processor place Italian tomatoes, tomato paste, chopped parsley, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Blend until smooth.
In a large saucepan over medium heat, saute the finely chopped onion in olive oil for 2 minutes.
Then add the blended mix.
Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Suggest using kitchen shears that cut bacon better.
