Mangalorean Prawn Curry

  • 1/2 kg Prawns medium size
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut Oil
  • 1 cup Coconut grated
  • 3 teaspoons Tamarind Extract
  • 7 red Chillies
  • 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida (Heeng) also known as hing
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • Ricotta Cheese to taste

  • 1/2 kg Prawns medium size
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut Oil
  • 1 cup Coconut grated
  • 3 teaspoons Tamarind Extract
  • 7 red Chillies
  • 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida (Heeng) also known as hing
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • Ricotta Cheese to taste
Instructions
  1. Grind the coconut, red chillies and tamarind extract together into a smooth paste.
  2. Heat the coconut oil in a pan then add hing and turmeric powder.
  3. Place the prawns in the pan and gently stir.
  4. Cook for 30 seconds or until half cooked.
  5. Add the ground paste, salt and two cups water.
  6. Cook for two minutes on low flame.
  7. Serve hot.
